Download Halo for Windows.
A native Windows app — not a web wrapper — with optional on-device models you control and can remove anytime. This is a pre-1.0 build: it installs outside the Microsoft Store and updates by downloading the next one.

What happens when you run it.

Unzip it, run Halo Setup
Setup closes any running copy of Halo, installs the Windows App Runtime if this PC does not have it, and registers Halo for your account. Under a minute.

SmartScreen will warn you
Halo is not signed by a public certificate authority, so Windows does not recognise it yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway.

One administrator prompt
Setup asks for approval once, only to trust Halo's signing certificate. Halo itself runs without administrator rights.
